Familiarity
This article is here because of its importance; it exposes a landmine in the path. Be aware of its existence and know exactly where it is.
None of us… not one, has anything in their personality that would do anyone any good at all spiritually. We cannot rub elbows in the natural with those that are spiritual and think that holiness will rub off on us. On the other hand, it does not work the other way around, with the holy thinking their holiness will rub off on lukewarm or ungodly individuals. You are wasting your time!
“Ragdolls” are people who will cling to us for companionship or out of loneliness, wonderfully-willing to let us drone on for hours (& years!) about spiritual matters. Yet they never stand up and partake of the holy attitude nor do they have a hunger for the will of the Father.
Lack of hunger is a dead giveaway; they simply crave companionship!
Have you ever tried to stand a ragdoll at attention? We may have high hopes but it will never happen. We are not ordained to be other people’s spiritual backbones! Even the Lord eventually spits out the lukewarm!
But what about bearing the infirmities of the weak and long suffering and love? At some point, the weak must affirm that they are strong! And as for longsuffering: there is a time for all things! What’s the balance here?! God’s patience runs out at some point. Longsuffering is for those who are putting forth effort in the right direction. Those who spend their life making excuses and a career out of being weak, are not in the VERY necessary love of what is supposed to be their own personal focus.
Moses didn’t have to drag God’s people out of Egypt, they stood on their own two feet and walked… every one of them!
Hunger is a motivator to eat in all that are alive and without it no life will exist for long. This is also parallel in spiritual matters. No hunger means, no life. No life means, you are pouring oats down a dead horse’s throat, which is a waste of your oats and your time. This is true, no matter what they say or profess with the mouth.
A living, holy individual eats all the time and has an aura of life about them. By the same token, the person who is not hungry is pale and has an aura of spiritual lackluster about them.
A lot of people simply want to go to heaven when they die, mostly because they are afraid of hell; so they rub elbows with the holy hoping that will be enough.
But the truth is, that every one of us has an assigned place to stand in the ranks of the Kingdom of God and the Lord stands with each individual in their place. We are solely responsible for our posture in that lot of spiritual reality. If we will not stand in our place and fight against every natural and spiritual adversary, we are not worthy of the inheritance. Godliness is first an individual participation with the anointing and then, we become fit for other functions. Empty souls have no hunger and therefore no spiritual substance; in other words, when they are pipped to, they do not dance.
When we present “the music,” If they do not dance to it… ever, then we should put our pipe back in its case and move on. Enlightenment must have a response or it is not being received. We do not carry individuals into the promises of God, they must move of their own accord.
I am serious about the understanding of what Paul called, “Jesus Christ and him crucified.” This is actually about focus rather than crucifixion. There are differences between how we should act socially and how we act and think on a spiritual level. This is especially true when we deal with those who are anchored in holiness: the brethren!
We are required to look at what comes out of the brethren and discern its value. We are unwise and immature, if we focus on the outer appearance. We might not even like certain things about some of the brethren but we must discern what comes out of them, the young as well as the mature. God is no respecter of persons and even uses jackasses to speak to hardheaded prophets. God does not change!
Show respect for the brethren by being mindful that the authority of the Most High is in them. Bear this in mind continuously, as we respect the same anointing within our own hearts. This even applies to those who are unbalanced as well. Saul was full of the Devil, but David respected the fact that he was God’s anointed. Therefore, bridal the tongue… be humble, very careful and let God be the judge!
Nevertheless, subtle attitudes of contempt towards one another are NORMAL in all human beings; this is instinctual but in a spiritual setting, it is very unholy. This is also a way in which we disrespect and disrupt the Holy Spirit.
Ignorance allows those who know the Lord (at the same time) to hold the Lord himself in contempt; in that, whatever we do to one another, we do to the Father. And we wonder why our experiences in the Spirit are so lame! Prayers are hindered by this very thing! When we are in holy order, they work like clock-work.
Etiquette in the House of God is lacking among us. We are a Royal Priesthood and exist in God’s Royal Court and there are manners and rules of this court to be observed.
This should shed some light on what I’ve been trying to express about “Jesus Christ and him crucified” and Paul’s declaration of the same to the Corinthians. -1 Cor. 2:2. I believe Paul saw what I’m talking about. What Paul saw was very subtle but also spiritually debilitating over the long haul. I believe he discerned what common familiarity does to a spiritual setting in a very small amount of time. Therefore, we must focus our attitudes and close this gap in the wall.
I have myself observed this in congregations, when I was in that realm of bondage and it is common but I have never heard anyone mention it, ever. Nevertheless, I see it and often discern it even on this side of the wall, also knowing that it is a deluding force, unknown by most.
This is not simply a requirement for respect but reverence for the Lord within another common human being, who also is holy. This must never be forgotten. If it is, it is equal to going out in public naked, which would be a real shame.
I have written about this before under the heading of Contempt. This measure of understanding is important beyond measure. It is also, the simple reality concerning who we actually deal with when we deal with the brethren.
The godly cannot afford to be fogged over by a cloud of stupor, while trying to figure out which way the Ark went. Focus on the Lord must be where he is and he is in the anointing, which is also in the brethren.
Be sober… be grave. This is a serious time and a serious undertaking. If you are not strong, “say you are” until it becomes your reality!
